Thank you for your support of the Deral Johnson Legacy Award in Choral Conducting in the Don Wright Faculty of Music!

Deral Johnson was a beloved music professor in the Faculty of Music for 22 years, from 1969 to 1991. Under his leadership, Western’s choral area developed into one of the highest-achieving programs in the country. We want to honour his significant contributions by creating an ongoing award in choral music.

Join alumni and friends in supporting the Deral Johnson Legacy Award in Choral Conducting in The Don Wright Faculty of Music. By creating this award, the Faculty will be able to help a promising student pursue their passion for choral music. Deral tried to foster such passion in all of his students and he would have been thrilled to know his students, friends, and family, supported others to achieve their potential in the realm of choral music.
