Guests will enjoy delicious appetizers and refreshments. A cash bar will be available.

Presentation Description:
Occupation is important.  Not just your work occupation - all of the things that you do in your leisure time as well.

What happens when your occupations are disrupted by concussion injury? We have few (if any) direct treatments of concussion, other than rest, and avoidance of stimulation. Given the importance of these occupations on your mental health and happiness, how do we reconcile this within the treatment of concussion?  What can we do to support a safe and healthy rehabilitation?

In this presentation, we will discuss the importance of considering the lived experience of the concussed individual.  We will also discuss the research that has lead to the development of return to learn and return to play guidelines.  We will conclude with thoughts on the future of concussion management.
