Les Kalman, BSc'95; DDS'99, Assistant Professor, Division of Restorative Dentistry
Les Kalman is an assistant professor and Chair of the Dental Outreach Community Service (DOCS) program at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Kalman’s research focuses on medical devices & technologies relevant to clinical dentistry, with the intent of short-term industry translation. He has developed and translated two technologies and recently received a patent on a third invention. He is the founder and President of Research Driven, a corporation that manages intellectual property. He is a member of the AO, AAID and the ICOI. He has been recognized as an Academic Associate Fellow (AAID), Fellow, Master and Diplomate (ICOI) and recently received the Schulich Alumni of Distinction Award. In his spare time, Kalman enjoys time with his family and photography.
Danielle Giannantonio, BA'12, Manager, Corporate Events, KCI Management Inc.
As Manager of Corporate Events, Danielle is instrumental in delivering events on time, within budget, and that exceed expectations at KCI. Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project, Danielle manages operations and administrative functions with ease. Working on a variety of on-the-road and networking events, she is also highly skilled in meeting management and concierge care.
Michele Martin, BSc'90, Manager Internal Communications, Strategic Priorities, London Health Sciences Centre
Michele graduated from The University of Western Ontario with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacology and Health Sciences. She spent 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry in sales, marketing and training before entering into the communications and public relations field. Michele received her Accreditation from IABC in 2007, a designation that only 5 % of communicators have around the world.
She enjoys teaching the communicators and PR practitioners of the future at Fanshawe College.
Carmen Gicante, MBA'00, President, Gicante Associates
S. Gicante has an extensive background in business development,
technology commercialization and strategic planning. His career has
encompassed senior positions in the electric utility, telecommunications
and research sectors, including Director of Energy Services, Manager
Marketing, and Director of Business Development. He has led initiatives
in strategic planning during times of change and restructuring as well
as developing and managing technology commercialization. He successfully
initiated, developed, financed and spun off several new technology
businesses from an applied R& D Company. Carmen holds an MBA from
the Richard Ivey School of Business, a BEng from McMaster University and
operates a consulting Business - Gicante Associates, specializing in
Business Development and Strategic Planning for hi-tech companies to
accelerate business growth, become investor-ready and gain access to
investment capital. He is past Managing Director, and currently Chair of
the Board of Directors of the Southwestern Ontario Angel Group, a
member based investment group based in London and a Director of the
Windsor Essex Capital Angel Network based in Windsor.
