Toronto Lecture David Bowie Is Fall 2013

Join Alumni Western at the AGO for an exciting odyssey through the world of pioneering musician, performer and style icon David Bowie. 

Our Welcome Reception takes place from 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the lower level Café, featuring appetizers, refreshments and a cash bar.

Professor Norma Coates will give an exclusive talk from 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the Jackman Hall entitled "Not A 'Cracked Actor': David Bowie and the Theatre of Rock." Norma will explore notions of theatre and authenticity in rock music as played (and played with) by Bowie.

At 7:00 p.m. alumni will enjoy self-guided tours of the David Bowie is timed-entry exhibit. You will be provided with a headset to experience a sensory tour that immerses you in the music, videos and interview clips that bring the objects, costumes and art of David Bowie to life.

The registration fee is $20 per person and includes the talk by Professor Coates, admission to the David Bowie is exhibit, as well as appetizers and refreshments.
