Undergraduate Auditions for Music
|
The admission process for the Don Wright Faculty of Music's Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Musical Arts, Bachelor of Arts (Major in Popular Music Studies) and, in most cases, Bachelor of Arts, Specialization in Music Administrative Studies programs requires an audition. Prior to registering for an audition date, applicants must have applied to Western through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (www.ouac.on.ca). Once you have applied through OUAC and registered here, we will be in touch with you regarding supplementary forms, request for audition and finalizing your audition day and time. (Note: The April 7th date listed above is the last of six available audition days. This will not necessarily be your audition date.) Auditions will be held on the following dates: February 22 &
23, 2018 Certain instruments will be on certain days. Applicants are generally auditioned by two members of the faculty, and the audition includes a brief interview. Applicants should be prepared to play two or three contrasting pieces, preferably from different periods, and some scales and/or studies. All applicants will be given some sight-reading at the audition. Audition fees are $50.00 per applicant and must be paid online. Applicants may audition on a maximum of two instruments. Please complete a separate registration for each applicant. For further information: Western is committed to accessibility for peoples with disabilities. Please contact us if you have any particular accommodation requirements or require information in an alternate format. |
