Modern Age of Comic Books

Hey there, true believers!

Join Western Libraries: The Modern Age of Comic Books for an examination of the nature and impact of comic books and what they reveal about society. Drawing on examples from the significant comic book holdings of Western Libraries’ Special Collections, explore how comic book themes and characters -- ranging from action heroes to regular folks --  can tell us a great deal about daily life, cultures and conventions, past and present.  Discover how the diversity and complexities of our world unravel through evolving story-lines.  Uncover what scholars and students are learning about pop culture, visual arts, and indeed life in general, through the eyes of our favourite comic book characters.

Please register online by Wednesday, September 17, 2014.
