11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Room 147 A/B - UCC, Western University

Equity & Human Rights Services in partnership with Indigenous Services invite Staff, Faculty and Students to attend a special Lunch and Learn on the topic: "Indigenous student experiences in postsecondary."

This session will raise awareness about the unique strengths, needs, as well as historical and contemporary barriers faced by Indigenous students in postsecondary. It will also provide an opportunity to learn more about Western’s Indigenous Strategic process update.

This presentation will be delivered by Candace Brunette. Candace is a Cree woman from Fort Albany First Nation. She is a graduate of the Master of Arts program from OISE/UT, and enrolled in Western’s Doctorate of Education (EdD) focusing on Indigenous approaches to educational leadership. She is the Associate Director of Western’s Indigenous Services and is also the Co-Chair of Western’s Indigenous Strategic Initiatives Committee.

We hope you will be able to share some corn soup and fry bread with us.
