Saturday, July 5, 2014
9:45 AM - 12:30 PM

Ward's Island Ferry Docks, 9 Queens Quay W., Toronto, ON

Shoreline, Western Serves

Western Alumni Serves -  a community service initiative -  provides opportunities for you to volunteer and connect with other alumni while giving back to our communities.

Aquatic debris is one of the biggest threats currently facing our oceans, lakes and waterways. Be a cleanup champion and clean a Toronto shoreline with fellow alumni and friends. By participating in The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, you can actually see the impact you’ve had over the course of a single day!

No experience is required, but please note the following:

  • Please bring cash to cover the cost of the ferry crossing is $7 (round trip).
  • Please arrive no later than 10:00 a.m. as the ferry departs at 10:15 a.m.
  • Be prompt as we will travel to the clean up site together.
  • We will supply gloves and garbage bags, but please feel free to bring extra garbage bags.
  • We suggest sturdy shoes - sandals or flip-flops should be avoided.
  • Wear clothing appropriate to the weather as our clean up will take place rain or shine!

Western alumni and their guests will be provided with Western Alumni Serves t-shirts upon arrival. Students are welcome! Children are also welcome to participate, however, supervision will not be provided.

Please register by Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
