EVENT POSTPONED
To our alumni guests:
This past weekend it was brought to our attention that the MIT 20th Anniversary reception scheduled for this Friday, February 2, in Toronto was booked into a venue that is not accessible. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and want to affirm our commitment as a Faculty to accessibility and inclusivity, part of our core values.
We want to ensure that this event is a memorable one for all involved. Over the past 24 hours we have searched for suitable venues; however, it has become clear that we require more time to find a venue that will meet the needs of all our alumni and fulfill the vision for the event. Consequently, we have decided to reschedule the MIT reception for the week of October 15. At that time we will host a Toronto-based MIT Homecoming event and we hope that all will be able to join us. Please know the decision to postpone was not taken lightly. We regret that this may cause inconvenience, and for that we apologize.
More broadly, FIMS is committed to promoting a conversation at Western about accessibility at events on and off campus.
Full refunds will be issued to all registered guests.
We are looking forward to hosting this event in October 2018, and we hope you’ll join us at that time to celebrate 20 years of MIT, and 20 years of the Faculty of Information & Media Studies.
