The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry is pleased to offer Mini Medical School, a community lecture series focused on health topics and issues relevant to the community at large. This informative weekly series features internationally recognized researchers, faculty members and alumni from the School.

In 2018 Mini Medical School will take place every Thursday, starting September 6 until October 11, 2018.

We look forward to welcoming:

Kelly Anderson, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Department of Psychiatry and Adjunct Scientist, Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, with research focusing on Understanding the Role of the family physician in early psychosis intervention;

Dr. Tom Appleton, Clinician Scientist, Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine and Assistant Professor, Department of Physiology & Pharmacology, who provides clinical service to patients with inflammatory rheumatologic disorders;

Dr. Janet Martin, PharmD, Associate Professor, Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine, Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Founder and Co-Director of EPiCOR, Evidence Based Perioperative Clinical Outcomes Research Program which contributes to teaching opportunities and publications for the purpose of raising awareness of the need for evidence-based decision-making, medical economics and health technology assessment in London Hospitals.

Abe Oudshoorn, PhDAssistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Assistant Professor, Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, whose research interests include women’s homelessness, poverty and health promotion;

Dr. Shawn Steele, BA’01, DDS’05, JD'13, 2017 Schulich Dentistry Young Alumnus of Distinction Award recipient, Dr. Steele is a community leader and advocate for social justice in oral health care;

Dr. Saverio Stranges. Professor and Chair Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Cross-Appointed Professor, Department of Family Medicine, Associate Scientist, Lawson Health Research Institute, whose research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of chronic disease.

We will be sharing the event location and other important details for the 2018 lecture series in the coming months.
