Have We Lost Sight of Art?
Dr. John G. Hatch looks at the Art Gallery of Ontario’s “Art as Therapy” exhibition that is based on the popular reappraisal of art’s role written by the British philosopher and art historian John Armstrong and philosopher Alain de Botton.

They collaborated in putting together this exhibition, as well as concurrent shows at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. Dr. Hatch outlines and discusses the merits of the approach looking at art as a therapeutic tool for the resolution of difficult issues in life instead of the more usual approach of looking at historical or stylistic concerns.
