Canada Eh?! Healthy Eating While in Canada
Monday, March 13, 2017
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Dr. David S.H. Chu International Student Centre, International and Graduate Affairs Building, Western

One of our most popular “Canada Eh?!” sessions is back this term and we’re cooking up something new!

Nutritionist Anne Zok and FRESH Volunteers from Brescia's Foods and Nutrition Program will be here to share their expertise and answer all of your questions about healthy eating and cooking in Canada!

At this session you will learn more about:

1.      Popular nutrition trends (including new research about sugar and probiotics)

2.      Where to look for nutrition information online (and how to tell if it’s trustworthy!)

3.      Environmentally friendly protein options (including local, in-season Canadian legumes & how to cook them)

This interactive session includes 3 learning stations (complete with relevant handouts, recipes and more), plus an opportunity to make your own meal. This time, we’ll be making a super-healthy pasta alternative featuring in-season spaghetti squash plus a 3-ingredient homemade fruit jam!

All participants will receive a free FRESH Lunch Bag and will be entered to win a $25 grocery gift card!

Canada, Eh?! is a series of information sessions designed to support International Students in their transition to Canada. Whether you have just arrived or you have been here a few years, these sessions offer you a chance to learn more about Canadian culture and the opportunity to meet and build connections with other International and Canadian Students.
