It has become October’s hot ticket in London: the Parsons and Poole Legacy Concert. Created by alumni to honour Margaret Parsons and Clifford Poole, the Friday concert and Saturday Masterclass brings world-class musicianship to Western’s campus. This year we are pleased to welcome internationally acclaimed pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin as the guest artist. Silver medalist and laureate of the Krystian Zimerman award of the best sonata at the International Chopin Piano Competition in 2015, Charles Richard-Hamelin is standing out as one of the most important pianists of his generation. Originally from Lanaudière in Québec, Charles Richard-Hamelin has studied with Paul Surdulescu, Sara Laimon, Boris Berman and our inaugural guest artist for the Parsons & Poole Legacy Concert, André LaPlante. He is a graduate from McGill University, the Yale School of Music, the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal and now works on a regular basis with pianist Jean Saulnier. Mr. Richard-Hamelin's program will include: Tickets for the concert and post-performance reception are complimentary for 1878 Societies members. A limited number of tickets are available. Please register by Monday, October 23, 2017 to guarantee your seats. Complimentary parking will be available in the Talbot Lot.
