Western Alumni Career Management invites you to join distinguished speaker Chris Thompson, MEd, for Communication Skills for Today’s Leaders.

Designed with both current and aspiring leaders in mind, this interactive workshop focuses on one of the most important skills for a leader to master, communication. During this session you will discover how to select the ideal media for leadership tasks, broaden your understanding about communication styles, and sharpen your teamwork and collaboration skills.

Note: please plan to arrive a few minutes early to settle in with your meal for a noon start time. Out of respect for all of our participants and the facilitator, please plan to stay until the session ends at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per person and include lunch.

Speaker Spotlight:
A curious person by nature and lifelong learner, Chris Thompson’s academic background includes studies in popular culture, corporate communications, management, adult education, and he holds a Master of Education with a focus on educational policy and leadership. Currently the Manager of Academic Programs & eLearning at Western Continuing Studies (WCS), Chris has enjoyed a successful career at Western University for over a decade, with responsibilities that include marketing and communications, leadership coaching, program management, curriculum design, and training and development. Chris is the Past-President of Western’s Professional and Managerial Association (PMA) and chairs the PMA’s Negotiations Committee.

At WCS, Chris teaches courses in the Professional Certificate in Leadership, the Professional Certificate in Adult Education, and the Diploma in Public Relations, and he is a Professor in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business at Fanshawe College.
