Western Alumni in partnership with the Science and Innovation Office at the British High Commission invite you to a lecture by internationally renowned neuroscientist, Dr. Adrian Owen, Canada Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience and Imaging at The Brain and Mind Institute, Western University. Using advanced neuroimaging to communicate with individuals in a vegetative state, medical science is developing a richer understanding of "disorders of consciousness.” Dr. Owen will share pioneering insights into our deepening knowledge of some of the most challenging questions about how the brain functions and the very nature of consciousness. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a reception. The lecture will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by light refreshments. Cash bar (no debit or credit). Advance registration is required as this event takes place within the High Commission. Attendees must be registered and will go through security screening at the entrance. If you would like to attend this event you can please email RSVP.Ottawa@fco.gov.uk by Monday, October 19, 2015. Western Alumni is committed to accessibility for persons with disabilities.
