Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine: Not just for leukemia any more?

The number of diseases that can be treated with stem cell transplantation has increased rapidly since the method was first used successfully to treat blood cancers such as leukemia in the 1970s. David Hess, professor in Western’s Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and Robarts’ scientist will discuss new stem cell-based strategies that may be used in the future to treat diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Please register online by Wednesday, November 20, 2013.
