The Faculty of Education is pleased to present a complementary speaker series, open to the general public, to share research being conducted and facilitate discussion around important topics in education. Western Education professor Kathy Hibbert presents "Lessons from Fukushima." March 11, 2011, 2:46 pm, a seismic earthquake set off a chain of events in Japan that led to the largest Nuclear Disaster in the world since Chernobyl. Determined to ensure that the ‘lessons learned’ found their way into classrooms of future medical professionals, Dr. Kathy Hibbert was invited to develop disaster medicine education curriculum. This is her story. Free parking will be available.
