Current students are invited to stop by The Wave, grab a coffee and engage in some casual career conversation with guest alumni networkers. This is the perfect place to ask questions and start making some connections!

There is no cost to attend this complimentary event, and the coffee and treats are on us. Students are requested to register online by Monday, February 9, 2015.

Mark Millar, BSc'04,
Senior Manager Operational Controls, TD Canada Trust
Mark graduated from Western with an honours Computer Science degree in 2004 and has continued to work for the company, TD, which he completed a 16-month internship after his 3rd year.  Most of Mark's tenure at TD has been within the technology risk space focusing on various TD businesses, leading merger & acquisition work, and heading up support for TD Auto Finance.  Recently he has moved into the Operational Risk space by supporting the major back office businesses at TD.  Along with many local volunteer engagements he has been a long volunteer for Western Alumni currently sitting on the Board of Directors and is Homecoming Chair - Purple and Proud!

Andrew Nemirovsky, BSc'N'06, Physician Informatics Lead, London Health Sciences Centre
Andrew is currently the Physician Informatics Lead at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) where they recently implemented a Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) system along with Electronic Medication Administration, Electronic Medication Reconciliation and Closed-Loop Medication Administration (Barcoding of medications and patients).
Andrew has previously taught as a Clinical Instructor with the Nursing program at Western, was a Clinical Educator with the Clinical Informatics group at LHSC and worked as a staff RN in the Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital for 6 years.
Prior to a career in nursing, Andrew worked at RBC Royal Bank as an Account Manager, helping clients with finances, loans, mortgages, investments and retirement planning.

Lee Smithson, BSc'88, Director, Business Development, Life Sciences, London Economic Development Corporation
Lee provides investment attraction and retention support services for London Economic Development Corporation to the Life Sciences companies in London Ontario, supporting the executives within the industry coordinating technology and expertise sourcing for the biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics and pharmaceutical and health IT companies which comprise this sector.

Lee’s portfolio includes supporting early stage technology innovation companies and ensuring they are able to leverage the resources and ecosystem available to them. Corporate structuring, enabling organizational execution, technology commercialization strategy and maximizing your advantage in London, Canada are among his strengths.

Prior to being Director, Life Sciences for LEDC Lee was Managing Director at The Stiller Centre for Technology Commercialization, one of Eastern Canada's largest technology incubators, where he was responsible for Program development, HR, full P&L, Revenue generation and growth, grant management, board recruitment, most importantly coaching and working in partnership with the entrepreneurs commercializing new technology.
