About the Speaker
Jagmeet Singh Dhaliwal is the MPP for Bramalea - Gore - Malton and is currently the NDP critic to the Attorney General of Ontario and critic to the Ministry of Consumer Services. Singh obtained his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University in 2005 and speaks English, French and Punjabi. He is a mixed martial arts specialist who has competed in the U.S. and Canada in Brazilian ju-jitsu — a form of “submission grappling” familiar to UFC fans. Singh is also known for wearing fine Canadian-made suits. He has twice been featured on the Toronto style blog Toronto Verve and was recently named one of Toronto's Most Stylish by Toronto Life's 2013 Fall/Winter Stylebook.

In January 2012, The Toronto Star named Singh one of Toronto’s Top 12 Personalities to Watch, calling Singh a trailblazer in Ontario politics. Singh has also been recognized by the Ontario Federation of Labour as a youth leader.
