Innovation Ambassadors are self-identified researchers from across campus who have experience and expertise in entrepreneurship, commercialization and/or knowledge mobilization. The purpose of the ambassador program is to provide peer-to-peer networking, peer-to-student mentoring, advice to senior leadership on program or ecosystem initiatives and recognition and acknowledgement of achievements in this area.

The Future of Authority and the Role of Education in Innovation
Jesse Hirsh – Futurist and Technology Columnist
Who we listen to and who we trust is changing, and this is having a massive impact on education and innovation. In a world of "alternative facts" where anyone can broadcast to a global audience, the ability to provide a signal amidst that noise directly influences who has authority and why.
Innovation in this context is a combination of critical thinking, creative ideas, and intellectual property. None of which is easy when attention is fleeting and distractions abound. Therefore, the future of education involves a large element of entrepreneurship, and many post-secondary institutions are embracing incubators, accelerators, and hands-on learning that engages and empowers students and faculty alike. Therefore, how do we approach both innovation and education, that combines the need to operate at the velocity of the global marketplace with the need to reflect and produce original critical research? With the rise of artificial intelligence, automation, and robots, these issues are not just about innovation, but broader social and political issues that place innovation at the forefront of public policy.
