The 2-Hour Job Search

Exclusively for Western alumni, author and career coach Steve Dalton presents a lecture and workshop that will help anyone in a job search by offering tangible, effective, practical strategies on landing that sought after interview.

Online job postings have changed the job search.  Hiring managers increasingly rely on referrals to avoid reviewing hundreds of resumes per posting. However, job seekers find the convenience of online postings irresistible, pouring countless hours into an inherently ineffective approach.

Instead of providing laundry list of tips without regard to how long each one takes to implement, the 2-Hour Job Search provides step-by-step, time-limited instructions for the vaguest and most difficult part of the job search: getting the interview. This research-based process splits the job search into three main components: prioritization, outreach and informational interviewing, and helps job seekers get underway: quickly, efficiently, and effectively.

This session is broken down into two parts, a two hour lecture and a workshop where you will be able to work through the 2-Hour Job Search process. For the workshop component, please have access to your phone, tablet or laptop.  Wireless access with be available at no charge.

The registration fee is $20 per person.

Please register by Thursday, April 30, 2015.
