Health Information Science program kicks off with symposium
In September 2011, FIMS launched its new Health Information Science (HIS) graduate program, which is jointly offered by FIMS and the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS). To kick off the year, a symposium was held, bringing together graduate students and faculty and serving as a bridge to an increasingly important and emerging field of study. [more]

Heather Hiscox receives honorary degree CBC personality Heather Hiscox (MAJ '87), received an honorary Doctor of Laws from Western on October 28.
Diane Neal wins ASIS&T award Diane Neal, Assistant Professor for the Library and Information Science program, received the ASIS&T SIG Member of the Year award for 2011.
Faculty members lauded Congratulations to Assistant Professor Amanda Grzyb, Associate Professor Nadine Wathen, Lecturer Bill Irwin and Lecturer Selma Purac. All four received Dean's Awards for Excellence in Teaching for 2011.
