Celebrate Founder's Day in Calgary
|
Calgary and area alumni and friends are invited to join us to celebrate Western's Founder's Day at a cocktail reception. Our guest speaker, Erin Lawrence, BA'96, MA Journalism '97, Assignment Editor and Producer at CTV News Calgary, is one of Calgary's Top 40 Under 40 (2011.) Erin's talk News Worthy will explain why some stories make the cut and others don't. Guests will enjoy complimentary appetizers and soft drinks. A cash bar will be available. There is no fee to attend. Please register by Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Founder’s Day is celebrated annually by the Western community on March 7. It is a time for Western to remember the contributions of its founders and celebrate our students, staff, faculty and alumni and their accomplishments. One of Canada’s oldest universities, Western was founded on March 7, 1878 when the UWO Act was proclaimed. To commemorate this day, members of the Alumni Association have developed a grassroots initiative to promote Founder’s Day. Join Founder's Day on Social Media
