 The WALRUS TALKS Storytelling

Exploring the narratives that help us connect and understand our world.

The Walrus Talks format features seven speakers for seven minutes each on topics related to a single theme. Opening remarks by Western’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Alan Shepard.

  • Eternity Martis, BA'14, award-winning journalist and editor
  • Courtney Gilmour, comedian
  • Carol Off, BA'88, LLD'17, journalist, host of CBC's As it Happens
  • Susan Coyne, actor and co-founder of the Soulpepper Theatre Company 
  • Emma Donoghue, DLitt'13, former Writer-in-Residence(Western)  and award-winning writer
