Ramsay W. Gunton Chair in Cardiology Celebration

Please join Dr. Michael J. Strong, Dean, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry to celebrate with Dr. Ramsay Gunton, his family, friends and colleagues in honour of his commitment to medicine and research. Dr. Gunton is a distinguished medical scientist, professor of medicine and academic administrator. He was one of the first Canadian cardiologists to develop the cardiac catheterization technique. A medical leader, he was a member of the team who planned and developed London’s University Hospital and the Robarts Research Institute and also served as head of Western’s Department of Medicine. A professor emeritus, former President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Order of Canada recipient – Dr. Gunton is an icon of London’s medical community. His career accomplishments have been recognized through the establishment of the annual R. W. Gunton Symposium on Cardiovascular Therapeutics, as well as Professorship in Cardiology.
