A Moveable Feast
|
Western has the longest-running Writer in Residence program of any university in Canada, and we count among our alumni many of the top-tier of writers in Canada. After 40 years, it’s about time we started boasting about it. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites you to celebrate 40 years of Western’s Writer in Residence Program with A Moveable Feast, a gala evening celebrating the best of Prohibition – banned books, that is. Join our distinguished Writer in Residence alumni, including Joan Barfoot, Bonnie Burnard, Ivan Coyote, Emma Donoghue, Molly Peacock, and NourbeSe Philip, for an evening of jazz-age glamour heightened by readings from books that caused a stir in the 1920s. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served at 6:00 p.m. and dinner service at 7:00 p.m. Registration is $100 per person and includes a three course meal, wine and a complimentary cocktail. Net proceeds to support the culture of creative writing at Western. Please register online by Monday, October 28, 2013. Please contact Alumni Western if you require information in an alternate format, or if any other arrangements can make this event accessible to you. |
