Classes without Quizzes: Every Move You Make: Living with Online Surveillance
|
Every Move You Make: Living with Online Surveillance Increasingly, we live our lives online: shopping, banking, socializing, learning, and entertaining ourselves. Together, our online actions create a highly detailed ‘digital shadow’ capturing our activities, interests, intentions and desires. Jacquie Burkell, Assistant Dean, Research, in the Faculty of Information & Media Studies, examines this online behavioural tracking and the strategies you can use to monitor and limit your own ‘digital shadow.’ Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The lecture will begin at 7:00 p.m. Please register online by Monday, October 27, 2014. Please contact Alumni Western if you require information in an alternate format, or if any other arrangements can make this event accessible to you. Assistant Dean, Research, Associate Professor,
