About 1 to 3 in 1000 babies are born with permanent hearing loss. If not detected and supported early, it will negatively impact development. Babies born in some areas of Canada are fortunate to have access to infant hearing health care, but a health inequity exists for infants born in regions of Canada who do not have these services.
