May 15: Infant Hearing Health Care Supports the Best Start in Life

About 1 to 3 in 1000 babies are born with permanent hearing loss. If not detected and supported early, it will negatively impact development. Babies born in some areas of Canada are fortunate to have access to infant hearing health care, but a health inequity exists for infants born in regions of Canada who do not have these services. You will learn:

  • About the components of comprehensive infant hearing health care
  • Where in Canada all of them are offered
  • The importance of research and clinical protocols so infants with hearing loss have the best start in life
Speaker Bio: Marlene Bagatto, Assistant Professor, School of Communication Sciences and Disorders; Director, Pediatric Audiology Strategies and Systems Laboratory; Former Chair (2017-2023) and Member, Canadian Infant Hearing Task Force.

Everyone is welcome!
