Please join the Western Women's Basketball team for a pre-game reception at Alumni Hall prior to the 9th annual Leslie Petter Basketball Game. Please RSVP online no later then Wednesday, September 25, 2019 Leslie Petter, BA'89 BEd'89, was a huge part of the basketball community in London and Western. Leslie played an important role for the Mustangs from 1982-86, serving as a co-captain for her final two seasons. In 2010 Leslie was diagnosed with breast cancer, this was the second time she battled cancer having survived leukemia and a bone marrow transplant at the age of 24. On May 11, 2011 Leslie Maureen Petter passed away at the age of 47. After her time at Western, Leslie became a highly respected teacher, athletic director and coach at Medway high School in Arva, Ontario. In her more than 22 years at Medway, her leadership, commitment and dedication has impacted many lives. Even during the last month of her life, Leslie assisted in running an event in London, called the Transplant Trot, to raise awareness of the importance of organ transplants.
