Burnout is a major issue in the medical and dental profession. Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion that explores how it is affecting students and trainees, physicians, dentists and patients.

Moderated by André Picard (The Globe and Mail) and featuring panelists:

  • Dr. Ernest Chan, MD'17, PGY3 Urology Resident, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,
  • Dr. Jeremy Chitpin, MD’17, PGY3 Psychiatry Resident, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,
  • Dr. Gillian Kernaghan, MD’82, President & CEO, St. Joseph’s Health Care London,
  • Dr. Mithu Sen, Resident Alumna, Vice Dean (Acting) Faculty Affairs, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, 
  • Dr. Javeed Sukhera, Associate Professor, Psychiatry and Paediatrics, Schulich Medicine & Dentistry,
  • and Christine Huynh, Dentistry Class of 2020, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

The panel will explore burnout, depression, mental health and the impact all of this has on the delivery of patient care. The panel will also discuss the multiple strategies used to address this issue and what role the London hospitals and teaching academies play.

This event is open to all alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members.
