Burnout is a major issue in the medical and dental profession. Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion that explores how it is affecting students and trainees, physicians and patients.

Moderated by André Picard (The Globe and Mail) and featuring panelists:

  • Dr. Gillian Kernaghan, MD’82, President & CEO, St. Joseph’s Health Care London,
  • Dr. Mithu Sen, Resident Alumna, Vice Dean (Acting) Faculty Affairs, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,
  • Dr. Colin Taylor, MD’98, Radiologist, Real Time Medical and Co-Creator, Physicians for Physicians,
  • Dr. Sara Taylor, MD’98, Clinical Instructor, Department of Family Practice, University of British Columbia and Co-Creator, Physicians for Physicians,
  • Dr. Jeremy Chitpin, MD’17 and PGY2 Psychiatry Resident, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,
  • and Christine Huynh, Dentistry Class of 2020, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

The panel will explore burnout, depression, mental health and the impact all of this has on the delivery of patient care. The panel will also discuss the multiple strategies used to address this issue and what role the London hospitals and teaching academies play.

This event is open to all alumni, faculty, staff, students and community members.
