Please join Dr. Tom Freeman and colleagues for an afternoon discussing “Symptoms in Family Practice: New Findings using EMR Data,” supported by the Citywide Department of Family Practice, the Department of Family Medicine and the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine.

When: November 13, 2019, 1:00 - 4:30 p.m.

Where: Western Centre for Public Health and Family Medicine, Rm 1150

The afternoon will include presentations from representatives of Radboud University, Netherlands on:

  • ‘Medically Unexplained Symptoms’ and
  • ‘Depression and Depressive Symptoms’ as well as
  • ‘The coding of symptoms in ICPC’;

 

Representatives from Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University will lead the remainder of the day:

  • ‘Symptoms and symptom pathways in Canada: Data from the SMART study in Southwestern Ontario (Dr. Tom Freeman)
  • ‘Demonstration of the SMART study handbook’ (Dr. Dan Leger)

 

The day will wrap up with a discussion of ‘Future steps in practice and research’ and a brief reception.

Who attends? Faculty, residents, staff, students, researchers, physicians, and allied health care professionals.
