Join us for a thought-provoking lecture series on "40 Years of Medicine" from Schulich Medicine and Dentistry's three Dean's Distinguished Lecture Award winners. 

We are proud to welcome Dr. Anthony Miniaci, Dr. Dale Ziter, and Dr. Gillian Kernaghan from the graduating MD Class of 1982, as they speak about their career pathways and what "40 Years of Medicine" has looked like across their unique experiences.

Dr. Anthony Miniaci is a well-known name in the orthopaedic surgery world. His outstanding, innovative and trailblazing career has cemented his prestige in the field of sports medicine. He has authored and co-authored over 100 journal publications and holds nearly 40 patents designed to enhance the repair or resurfacing of joints. His innovative work has changed and influenced the standards and treatment approaches for a number of orthopaedic procedures.

Dr. Dale Ziter is heavily involved in teaching medical students and residents and has been the Academic Director for the Family Medicine residency training program in Windsor since 2003. He has received numerous well-deserved awards for his work as a family physician and educator. Dr. Ziter played an instrumental role in the creation of the Windsor Campus for Medical Education at Western. He saw the need for comprehensive primary care in Windsor and went to work to develop a curriculum that would help teach and retain doctors locally in Windsor.

Dr. Gillian Kernaghan’s diligence, passion and vision have laid strong foundations for acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation and recovery, complex care and mental health services on behalf of the populations served by our London community healthcare organizations. In 2010, Dr Kernaghan was appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph's Health Care London. Before assuming this role, she served for 17 years as the Vice President, Medical for various hospitals in London.
