In keeping with the spirit and tradition of Western University and Homecoming we invite you to join us for a virtual afternoon of Mustangs Athletics and fun festivities to celebrate Homecoming 2020 from the comfort of your couch!

We will come to you “live” from our Mustangs TV broadcast booth at Western campus hosted by Donnovan Bennett, Sportsnet and Brodie Lawson BA'13, CFL.ca with commentary from current coach Greg Marshall, and former Western Mustangs.

NOTICEWestern’s Virtual Gameday was pre-recorded with careful adherence to the guidelines of the Middlesex London Health Unit related to Covid-19. Production staff wore masks for the entire filming process and those interviewed removed their masks only during the actual interview(s).

Brodie Lawson

Brodie Lawson

From interviewing the league’s top players and coaches to sharing behind-the-scenes moments with fans, Brodie has a front row seat to all things CFL, which is among the top three sports properties in Canada reaching 12 million fans nationwide. As host for the Canadian Football League, Brodie is the lead voice of a multitude of original content generated from the League’s head office on a weekly basis. She has also interviewed some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Shania Twain, OneRepublic, Alessia Cara, and Fall Out Boy. Most recently, Brodie has been hosting #CFLTHISWEEK, Twitter’s first live partnership in Canada using the new Twitter Live platform. Filmed in downtown Toronto at the Twitter Canada headquarters, Brodie leads the weekly half-hour live show engaging with the CFL’s 226,000 followers covering the latest league news, interviewing players, and much more. Brodie received her degree in Media, Information & Technoculture in 2013.

 
Donovan Bennett

Donnovan Bennett

Donnovan is a feature host, producer and radio host with Sportsnet. As a member of the Sportsnet team since 2013, Donnovan’s work often touches on the intersections between sports and race, politics, gender and pop culture. Previously nominated for both a Gemini and Digital Publishing Award, Donnovan has made a name for himself by telling stories on multiple platforms. In addition to his role as a writer, Donnovan hosts videos for Sportsnet’s social media accounts and on radio as a co-host for Free Association, Sportsnet’s NBA podcast. Donnovan played for the Western Mustangs Football team as a running back from 2003-2006.
